The salve that you are definitely going to want to add to your herbal medicine cabinet and first aid kit! This blend of comfrey and yarrow is full of healing properties, great for wound healing, bleeding, rashes, muscle/joint pain, and the list goes on.
Comfrey, also known as “knit-bone”, has been used for centuries as a topical treatment for broken bones, painful muscles/joints, and sprains. It has been used to relieve pain, inflammation and swelling of muscles and joints, as well as contusions and strains after sports injuries. Comfrey is packed with allantoin, it encourages skin cell growth and helps knit wounds faster. Think of it as your skin’s personal construction manager, speeding up the healing process and calming inflammation.
Yarrow is famous for stopping bleeding and calming redness. It has antiseptic properties to keep infections at bay and helps tone the skin, making sure wounds don’t just heal but heal beautifully.
Calendula is one of my favorite herbs for the skin. Gentle, yet powerful herb known for its ability to soothe, repair, and nourish the skin. Rich in anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties, calendula helps calm irritation, support wound healing, ease dryness, and protect sensitive skin.
Use caution when using this salve on deeper wounds, as it can speed up the healing process and close the wound too quickly. Closing up a deep wound without proper cleaning could cause infection.
